KSC YOUTH DAY
The KSC Youth Day Saturday June 26 was a huge success! The Young people had a great time! 40 young people and several 1st time shooters. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out and to the Friends of the NRA for their generous assistance!! More details to follow.

COLUMBIA COUNTY FAIR
The Columbia County Fair runs September 1 through September 6. The KSC Fair Co-Chairs Bill Hollister and Rick Olivo have settled on this years prizes and the tickets have been printed.
Very soon you will be receiving your Fair tickets in the mail. Either sell the tickets or buy them yourself and return the stubs and a check asap. This is our biggest annual fundraiser so, if you can sell more tickets call Bill or Rick and get your tickets or get them at the August 4 meeting.
We have great prizes this year and have added a 6th prize...there will also be daily prizes. If you have any daily prizes you can donate or obtain please contact Bill 784-4782 or Rick 758-9860. Also call to lock in your slot to work a shift at the KSC Fair Booth.

TREES
Back in February KSC bought a mess o' white pines.
A few months back President Terry Toomey and those who showed up for the work party planted 250 pine trees around the edge of the Trap Range.
As you can see, the trees are doing fine and have a lot of new growth.
The red flags mark where the little fellas are, so use care not to step on them.

SHOOTERS' 1st ANNUAL WOMEN'S DAY
Shooter’s will hold the 1st Annual Women’s Day
on August 14th, 2010 from 10am-2pm (rain or shine). 
The event willl be held at the Kinderhook Sportsman’s Club Fowler Lake Rd. Kinderhook. There will be instruction in: Pepper Spray, Shotgun, Rim fire & Center fire rifles and Handgun (NYS permit req’d).
Ladies, Come join us for a warm, friendly, pressure-free day of shooting! Doesn’t matter if you have never shot before or shoot on a regular basis, come join the fun!
Fee: $10 includes lunch and ammo for the day! (Firearms & targets provided)

TRAP SHOOTING SUNDAY'S & WEDNESDAY'S!

KSC is now the premiere Skeet & Trap shooting facility in Columbia County!!
Trap and Skeet Shooting is open to the public! So, be sure to tell all your Trap & Skeet Shootin' friends and tell 'em to pass the word.
Carl Kochersberger announces a Skeet & Golf day on August 13. Details to follow.
The kitchen will now be open on Sunday mornings from 8 - 10 for a fresh homemade breakfast and coffee.

Chicken BBQ
The KSC Fall Bake will be a Chicken BBQ and will take place on Sunday September 26.
The grounds will open at 1:00 with Burgers & Hot Dogs. The BBQ will be served beginning at 2:30.
The BBQ dinner includes:
Delicious 1/2 Barbeque Chicken, Baked Potato, Sweet Corn, Coleslaw, Rolls, Beer, Soda & Water.

Did Kagan Compare the NRA with the KKK?
It has become clear that Elena Kagan, Obama's most recent Supreme Court nominee, is no friend of gun rights, to say the least. While clerking for Supreme Court justice Thurgood Marshall in 1987, she wrote the judge that she was "not sympathetic" to a Second Amendment–based challenge to the D.C. gun ban. While serving in the Clinton administration, she wrote a memo that "paved the way for an executive order banning dozens of semiautomatic weapons," according to the L.A. Times.
And National Review has learned that in 1996, Kagan apparently tied the NRA to the KKK — yes, the KKK — while debating the Clinton administration's position on a bill.

You only get two eyes (if you’re lucky), and it doesn’t take much to lose one.

Hearing loss is 100% irreversible. It is also 100% preventable by wearing proper ear protection.

In addition to wearing eye and ear protection while shooting, you should also do the same while at the club (and home) while operating weed-wackers, lawn mowers, chainsaws, wood chippers, and all other kinds of power equipment that make a lot of noise and fling stuff at your face. Don’t lose an eye or your hearing because you didn’t follow basic safety precaution
Archery Targets
Archery targets are out in the same locations as last year. If you want to shoot your bow, have at it (don’t forget to sign in).
Rifle Range
We were looking at installing a 250 yard rifle range, but it isn’t feasible due to the amount of digging that would be required. We’ll be looking at other solutions for a longer rifle range

MAHATMA GANDHI AND THE AMERICAN TEA PARTY MOVEMENT
The famous Indian Philosopher Mahatma Gandhi once said: "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."
STEP ONE: "First they ingore you"
When the Tea Party rallies were first held back in 2008, the socialist American Press ignored us. A million people marched on Washington and in many other paces in the country, and they still ignored us or underreported the number of people. I guess they thought if they ignored us long enough, we would just go away.
STEP TWO: "Then they laugh at you"
When we didn't go way, but rather we continued to demonstrate in the streets and voicend pour concerns for Liberty, Freedom and Sovereignty at Town Hall meetingsd, the progressives and the press began calling us Tea Baggers, Birthers, Thruthers and a whole lot of other names. The nightime TV hosts began to make fun of us and anyone else even slightly associated with the Tea Party Movement.
STEP THREE: "Then they fight you"
What we are seeing now is the beginning of a coordinated attack against the Tea party movement. The NAACP is just one organization that has recently joined in the attack. The FEC has filed a lawsuit against the Campaign for Liberty for posting the congressional voting records (public information) of two sitting Democratic House members. The Progressive-socialists have tried to crash our rallies and held up signs with derogatory racial and ethnic words on them in an attempt to destroy the movement. Even members of the Black Caucus made up stories that members of the Tea Party cursed at them, called them niggers and spat at them. This was all found out to be a lie. People took pictures of the incident and the Tea parties were cleared.
Now LaRaza, ACORN, the new Black Panthers, SEIU union locals and a wide variety of special interest groups, most of whom suvive on federal government handouts and Establishment non-profit organizational grants, are stepping up their anti-TeaParty efforts and have even tried to disrupt our rallies. We have reached that most important point in our movement to restore our Republic, but the worst is yet to come. The fact is that the Tea Party Movement, under many different names and organizations, is growing and we are becoming more of a threat to the Establishment Elite and their socialist and globalist agenda.
The road ahead will not be easy and the traitorous enemies within our own country are very cunning, unscrupulous and have unlimited resources. But they are no match for an army of united and determined citizens like us who are prepared to fight the hard battles that lie ahead, as our Founders did 234 years ago, and we WILL Prevail.
The year 2008 was the beginning of the Tea Party movement. It is a journey that will leave future generations of Americans a legacy of individual freedom and liberty, a first class education system, a clean environment, a strong and sovereign America with an honest, limited government that will offer unlimited opportunities for their future. For there is no doubt: WE WILL PREVAIL!
